Thursday, November the 15th, 2007 my best friend Rob and I drove from Dallas to Austin to see Glen Hansard play at Stubb's BBQ. I have seen a lot of shows in my time but I have to say this was the best musical experience I have ever had. This is Glen doing the song "Leave". Markéta Irglová (born February 28, 1988, in Valašské Meziříčí, Czech Republic) is an Academy Award-winning songwriter, musician, actress and singer. As of 2008, she resides in Dublin. Once is an Academy Award winning 2007 Irish musical film written and directed by John Carney. Set in Dublin, this naturalistic drama stars musicians Glen Hansard (of popular Irish rock band The Frames) and Markéta Irglová as struggling musicians. Collaborators prior to making the film, Hansard and/or Irglová composed and performed all but one of the original songs in the movie.

For the encore at The Frames concert, Glen Hansard accepts an audience member's request to duet with him on his and Marketa Irglova's Oscar-winning song "Falling Slowly" from "The Cost," the "Once" movie soundtrack, and The Swell Season's self-titled album (with Marketa Irglova). The guest singer, Jena McRae, does an amazingly excellent and wonderful job. Definitely a highlight (but not the last) of an already great evening.
