Detroit Emeralds - Feel The Need - Feel The Need LP - Westbound Records - 1977 Biography By:Ron Wynn All Music Guide Abrim, Ivory, Cleophus, and Raymond Tilmon formed the Detroit Emeralds in the '60s. They were actually a Little Rock vocal group. They had some success with "Show Time" for Ric-Tic in 1968, but by 1970 were down to a trio, with Abrim and Ivory Tilmon and James Mitchell. They stayed that way for a long run on Westbound that yielded R&B hits "Do Me Right," "You Want It, You Got It," and "Baby Let Me Take You (In My Arms)" in 1971 and 1972, as well as "You're Gettin' a Little Too Smart" in 1973. They expanded the roster to a quartet in 1977, but with three new members. Abrim Tilmon was now joined by Paul Riser, Johnny Allen, and Maurice King. Their backing band from 1971 to 1973 was Chapter 8. Though many regard "Feel the Need" as their best song, it was far from a hit, although it was their last chart entry in 1977. James Mitchell and Marvin Wills teamed to form an offshoot group, the Floaters, in 1977. Carl Johnson was Abe Tilmon's replacement in the Emeralds, with Abe Tilmon forming his own Detroit Emeralds. Each group stayed active on the oldies and cabaret circuit during the '70s and '80s. Michael Henderson, then a 13-year-old, was one of their members for a short time

Me, P.P.A., getting all Chaos Emeralds of Sonic R in less than 10 minutes. I'm playing as Knuckles. I'm playing the Gamecube version, this video is not tool-assisted. Sorry for the bad quality, but I had to convert the video twice in order for it to fit YouTube's 100MB-limit.

In this classic game challenge, I get all the Chaos Emeralds in Sonic 2 in the Emerald Hills Zone. It's hardly impossible but it's not easy either. You'll need to be familiar with all the special stages because there's very little margin for error. I did this once in my youth and decided to take another crack at it and make these videos, it was a lot harder than I remembered! This is hardly a superplay, so expect me to get hit and do other stupid things. If you're not familiar with Sonic 2, in order to get the Chaos Emeralds you need to beat the Special Stages. To open the portal to a Special Stage, you need to activate a Star Post (checkpoint) with 50 rings or more. When you leave the Special Stage and return to the zone, you'll have zero rings, but all the rings and powerups (and enemies!) in the zone will be reset. This means I have to backtrack a lot to get the 50 ring requirement. Another mechanic that complicates this is that when you activate a Star Post, all Star Posts before it are activated as well, nulling your chance to open it with a portal if you didn't do so earlier. So it's necessary to hit the Star Posts in the right order if you're trying something like this. Emerald Hills 1 has three Star Posts and thus three chances to get an Emerald. The first three Special Stages are pretty simple. Special Stage 1 (blue) is very straightforward and simple, anyone should be able to beat it on their first try. Special Stage 2 (purple) has a lot more twists and turns, and helps familiarize the player with some basic mechanics of the Special Stages; rings are often on the outside curve of a turn, and the direct center of the halfpipe is often littered with bomb patches. Recurring setups such as these help train you to do the Special Stages by instinct. Special Stage 3 (orange) is also fairly straightforward but also features a higher ring quota and a lot more bomb traps. You'll have to jump at a few points to avoid bomb loops. Not too tricky. The real action starts in the next set! Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZaY7zKKV0Dk

On June 3, 2008, the developers and designers behind the Emerald condominiums in Chicago's West Loop greeted guests at a grand opening ceremony for the development's lobby and common areas. Developer Bill Senne of Senco Properties, George Pappageorge of Pappageorge / Haymes Architects, and John Wiltgen and Jasmine Nelson of John Robert Wiltgen Design were among those who spoke about the 212-unit project during the event.

This is an instruction video to help Sonic 3 and Knuckles AND Sonic and Knuckles players find those extra-well-hidden emeralds. I play as Tails (my favourite character in the Sonic Series) and show you all the emeralds that are hidden to the best of my knowledge. You may notice that I have a hard time in Mushroom Hill, that's because I find that the emeralds are the hardest to find in that level. Anyway, I hope this will be of help. I welcome any and all feedback, just leave a comment or question and I will get back to you a.s.a.p.

You'll need to be familiar with all the special stages because there's very little margin for error. I did this once in my youth and decided to take another crack at it and make these videos, it was a lot harder than I remembered! This is hardly a superplay, so expect me to get hit and do other stupid things. Speed Shoes go! Towards the end of Emerald Hills 2, there's a Star Post you can see above you on a platform but you can't reach it; in order to get to it, you have to use the Speed Shoes at the start of the level and make it to the diagonal red spring. The speed boost gives you enough airtime to make it to an otherwise unreachable Shield atop a loop-the-loop and a spring that sends you to a secret island with a whole bunch of rings and a 1-up. To the right and below is the Star Post! You only get one shot to hit it, but it's worth it to try since it gives you a total of eight Star Posts in Emerald Hills. Some of the later Special Stages are pretty tricky so you'll want the extra chance. Special Stage 7 (black) is the last special stage and by far the most difficult. The first section is the killer; it's similar to the second portion of Stage 4, but is far more intense, requiring you to change sides rapid-fire, and tricking you by putting some ring patches on the same side twice in a row. The distance between the bomb intervals is pretty short; getting hit more than once will probably prevent you from hitting the high ring quota. Things cool down in the second section, which has you weaving from side to side to grab rings and avoid large bomb patches. One part breaks conventional layout and has you running continuously along the inside of the curve to get the rings. The last section is madness, with rings placed randomly and interrupted by scores of bombs; it's difficult to gather rings here so you'll need to have a lot from the previous sections. Just running in circles won't get you any rings, you need to actually aim for them. I manage to avoid destruction from the bombs by keeping near the center and jumping whenever the halfpipe slopes down and visibility becomes poor, because that's when they get you. Should you make it to the end, the sky flashes, as you are presented with the seventh and final Chaos Emerald! When you have all seven, you can become Super Sonic by jumping up when you have 50 rings. Super Sonic is invincible, faster, and jumps higher but slowly depletes your rings. As the coup de grace, I backtrack and gather up some rings (hilariously failing at it repeatedly - give me a break, I was exhausted!), and take down Robotnik's drillmobile as Super Sonic.

I did this once in my youth and decided to take another crack at it and make these videos, it was a lot harder than I remembered! This is hardly a superplay, so expect me to get hit and do other stupid things. Emerald Hills 2 has five Star Posts, but one is well-hidden and another is pretty tricky to get to. Enemy concentration is much higher, stray coconut and bee shots can make it hard to hold onto your rings if you're not careful. I get hit a lot... The first Star Post I hit is hidden up a little platform only accessible by a spring on another little platform. It's not hard to get to once you know where it is, though. Special Stage 4 (grey) has a learning curve to it. The bomb arches can take you by surprise and you'll have to navigate the halfpipe from side to side in the second section. There aren't many rings available so you can't afford to be hit by the bombs, especially early on. However, if you make it to the last section you should be home free. Special Stage 5 (gold and green) has a lot of wide-spread ring patches, and will have you running up the walls and ceiling a lot of the time. You'll need good timing to get the most rings possible. Special Stage 6 (green) has a few tricky spots where it's uncertain which side of the pipe you should be on due to low-visibility turns. The opposite sides are littered with bomb traps, too. The trick to it is that while in other stages most turns will alternate between right or left, this track often turns left twice in a row. The last section features a series of bomb loops. Towards the end, I backtrack to the start where the sole Speed Shoes powerup lies. You need to use it to get to the fourth Star Post and an extra chance at the final Emerald, which we'll see next time. Part 3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HxkLCHqb5wo
