Sinéad O'Connor has had a career marked by an equal combination of controversy and sublime music. She was one of the most distinctive female artists of the 90's and paved the way for a new generation of women performers.
This DVD contains two programmes, both related to Sinéad's most recent album Sean-Nós Nua. The first part is a concert recording live from Vicar Street in Dublin, which includes tracks from the new album alongside classics such as Nothing Compares 2 U and Fire On Babylon. The second part is a documentary, The Song Of Heart's Desire, charting the making of the new album with contributions from the likes of Donal Lunny, Christy Moore, Sharon Shannon and Adrian Sherwood.
The recent announcement of Sinéad O'Connor's retirement means that this is the last piece of recorded product that will be issued by her and it makes a fitting climax to her career.
