The third quarter in the 1994 Michigan game did not treat the Buckeyes well at all. They were held to no first downs as Michigan continued to chip away at the Buckeye lead. Again, the Wolvereenies were driving into Buckeye territory, threatening a go-ahead TD. They had to settle for a FG try, which was blocked by Marlon Kerner down to midfield. The Buckeyes eventually turned in the miscue for 3 points, giving the Buckeyes a 15-6 lead.
On the next Michigan play after the kickoff, Luke Fickell tips the Todd Collins pass to himself and catches it to put the Buckeyes on offense in the Michigan red zone. Eddie George eventually plowed in the ball for 6, giving the Buckeyes the 22-6 lead that became the final margin for the game.
The blocked FG was key in turning the game around for the Buckeyes and turning the tide on the Wolvereenies. The victory was Moeller's first loss in November and Cooper's first victory over Michigan.
