株式会社ニコンの子会社である、株式会社ニコンシステムズは、東京ビッグサイトで行われた第10回組み込みシステム開発技術展(ESEC)において、動画の画質を客観的に分析評価できる分析的画質評価ツール「VQ-1000」を展示しました。評価結果は、数値、インジケータ、グラフでそれぞれ表示されます。原画像と評価画像の画質の違いは、それぞれの特徴量表示や特徴量の差分表示で確認できます。評価結果の数値は、CSVファイルに出力できます。すべてのグラフィックが連動して表示されるので、効率的に画質の違いがわかります。ニコンシステムズではこのツールを１ライセンス１００万円とし、昨年の１１月より発売開始しています。

ニコンは2月22日、有効画素数1020万の小型軽量モデル「D60」を発売する。特徴はゴミ軽減機能を強化したこと。イメージセンサークリーニングを搭載しただけではなく、ミラーボックス内の空気の流れに注目して、ゴミやほこりがセンサーに付きにくくするシステムを採用した。また、ボディ内でRAW画像を現像できるなど、さまざまな画像編集機能がある。
